Paramount Square

Phase two of a master plan to revitalize the historic Walnut Hills neighborhood in Cincinnati.

Alta Flats, Fox Hardware, the Wills Building, the Kresge, and the Voss Building were developed as part of the second phase of the Peebles’ Corner Revitalization, a strategy to rehabilitate blighted structures and create incentives for private investment in the Walnut Hills neighborhood. Phase two of Paramount Square solidifies the neighborhood’s emerging reputation as a vibrant mixed-use community by adding another forty-seven dwelling units and over 9,000 SF of commercial space to the district. This development created opportunities for a variety of commercial tenants, including Artworks (in the Wills Building), an important local non-profit, Esoteric Brewing, First Financial, La Soupe and Taste of Belgium.

The team designed efficient, modern, and livable spaces that respect and capitalize on the historic fabric of the buildings. The existing layouts of the historic buildings allowed for intriguing spaces in unique dwelling units, including one unit with fifteen feet high original tin ceilings in a former manufacturing space.
